As a vet nurse, I saw first-hand how stressful everyday situations can be for some dogs, from being handled to visiting the vet or groomer.
Many dogs also struggle with unpredictable sounds, reacting by barking, shaking, hiding and/or refusing to go for a walk which can be tough for everyone involved.
Some become tense, growl, lunge or even snap when approached while guarding something they see as valuable like stolen items, food or even a comfy spot on the sofa.
And walks? They can be more stressful than relaxing, whether it's due to over-excitement or worry.
If this sounds familiar you are in the right place. I can help you enjoy life with your dog again using ethical, effective methods that work to help your dog feel better.

"Called Sadie off another dog less than 10m in front of her today and she came back! Trained her recall using a whistle based on the Karen's training plan.
She’s only 8 months old and I can walk her with confidence and know that she responds to me. It makes for such a nice dog walk!"

Pet Insurance
As a full member of the APBC, many pet insurance companies may cover my fees when working on behavioural issues. Please check with your insurer. Reimbursement is usually provided after sessions are complete, minus any excess.

Everyday I support owners in helping their dogs overcome anxiety and behavioural challenges.
Through one to one behaviour sessions, I create a tailored plan that fits your lifestyle giving you clear, achievable steps to help your dog feel safer, calmer and more confident.
It is easy to feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice from the internet, social media, friends or neighbours. If you not sure where to start, I am here to guide you every step of the way.

What is Involved?
This package involves an online call and then an in-person session (there is a good reason we start online).
Why an online call first? -
-
We can started sooner - reducing my travel time means I can offer appointments more quickly.
-
Your dog stays calm - I don't need to see your dog stressed in order to assess their behaviour. In fact, safeguarding their welfare is a priority. I can learn everything I need to by speaking with you (as you know them best!)
-
You will get immediate support - after our call you will know what to put in place straight away to help your dog feel more at ease.
-
Fewer distractions - having our first chat without me in your home means your dog won't be distracted by a visitor (which then often distracts you too).
-
We make the most of our time together - with all the background information gathered in advance, I can tailor the in-person session to focus on practical, hands-on support.
