Enrichment Activities
Sniffing, licking and chewing are behaviours our dogs do to help them feel calmer and more focused because it helps them to release any built-up stress, anxiety, frustration and excess energy. By providing daily opportunities for your dog to sniff, lick and chew you can support their wellbeing and help them feel more settled, relaxed and ready to learn. It is a simple way to make life easier for you both.

Accessories
Dogs thrive on consistency which is why tools like clickers and whistles can be so effective. They create a clear, predictable signal that always means the same thing - no matter who is using it. This helps your dog understand what is being asked and respond with confidence.

For some dogs, a muzzle can also be a helpful training tool. While we can't always control what is happening around us, a properly introduced muzzle can offer an extra layer of safety and peace of mind allowing you to focus on training without added worry.

Baskerville Muzzle

This muzzle is the best as your dog can eat, pant and drink while wearing.
Soft Clicker

For dogs that are sensitive to the volume of other clickers.
Treat Bags & Treats
When you are training your dog, rewards need to be quick and easy to access. If you are fumbling through your pockets or wresting with a crinkly treat bag your dog might get frustrated and/or you might miss the moment altogether. Timing is everything when reinforcing behaviours so having treats ready to go makes a big difference.

This is my favourite treat pouch to use.

A high value reward, can be cut up into any size and holds it shape so it isn't too messy.
Liver Paste

A high value reward that can be easier to organise - let your dog lick straight from the tube.
Books & Music
Here is my favourite gundog training book, plus a calming music option I often recommend. The music can be played throughout the day to help your dog relax. Research shows that certain types of music can lower a dog's heart rate and blood pressure. It can also help mask sounds your dog may be sensitive to, like car doors, voices or barking - making it easier for them to settle.
Force-Free Gundog Training

A step-by-step guide to gundog training to help your dog display what they are bred to do (whether you go on shoots or not).
